Four tips For Filming Your Investigations.

Hi all,

As Lead Investigator for Spectre Analysis, i wanted to share 5 tips we learnt for hunting those spooks.

1. Don't spend hundreds or thousands on the latest and greatest equipment. This is something we learnt the hard way as we assumed that the latest technology would give us a better advantage for catching proof but in all honesty, our converted action cameras and CCTV lights do a fantastic job and in total they cost £75 (camera, IR light, microphone, handle, bracket and battery pack). Keep to the basics like a digital recorder, IR thermometer, EMF detector and most importantly, trust your senses. If you feel a cold spot, get goosebumps, light headed or anything out of the ordinary then that's your body telling you that there is something around you.

2. Get a team you trust with your life because in some cases it might be on the line. If you work with a group that you don't trust completely then there is something wrong. When visiting locations, especially in the open, wildlife is a real concern and not all wildlife is "friendly", so If you come face to face with something dangerous and your buddies don't have your back then ditch those fuckers and get a new team. Being around people that have your back will give you a big confidence boost when stepping foot into a demon nest or abandoned building and will help you push forward into an investigation and grow as an investigator.

3. ALWAYS research the location to see if it's privately owned and never investigate without their permission.... NEVER!!!. There would be nothing worse then taking the risk, having a great time and all of a sudden the fuzz turn up and arrest you for trespassing. It's no fun for you having a criminal record, paying fines etc when all you're trying to do is hunt ghosts. When investigating, do it properly, safely and legally.

4. Final tip, be yourself and don't be afraid for the world to see the real you. You are special, unique and have something new to offer the world so make sure you show yourself. There is nothing worse than trying to copy someone you have seen before or making something overly professional when you're all a bunch of idiots who like to have a joke and a laugh (like us). If you check out our series 1 and 2 you will see we are not comfortable in front of the camera at all and are overly professional because we assumed that this was what we had to do to do this and it's really not. We discovered that having fun and a laugh whilst you're investigating isn't a crime and people watching your content will enjoy what you're providing so much more if it's genuine.. people know when your not being yourself so shine bright.

We hope you enjoy this blog and get in touch, we would love to hear from you.
